She was wrapped up in her huge blanket fighting a cold. Her throat bothered her and she was stuffy &#8211; generally not feeling well. Out of the blue she got up and plopped down by my feet laying her head on my knee.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t someting she does very often so I asked if she was all right. I figured she was feeling pretty icky. What she said in reply just made me melt \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>She said, &#8220;Your presence is comforting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My presence?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yeah. I feel better when I&#8217;m near you. In England one night you were working downstairs and I had cut my finger on something. When I sat on your bed, my finger didn&#8217;t hurt at all and when I sat on my bed, it did.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This was such a lovely, out-of-the-blue comment from her that I&#8217;m still thinking about it a few days later and I wanted to write it down. <\/p>\n<p>I love my kid \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukmelia.com\/ridiculousthoughts\/uploaded_images\/IMAG0005-799850.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ukmelia.com\/ridiculousthoughts\/uploaded_images\/IMAG0005-784665.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The other night Shannon and I were in my room watching telly.
