{"id":287,"date":"2007-08-15T22:26:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-16T02:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ukmelia.com\/ridiculousthoughts\/?p=287"},"modified":"2007-08-15T22:26:00","modified_gmt":"2007-08-16T02:26:00","slug":"a-poem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ukmelia.com\/ridiculousthoughts\/2007\/08\/15\/a-poem\/","title":{"rendered":"A Poem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nutcrackers and mice dance<br \/>   to the clash of violins and electric guitars<br \/>Slow, as a child climbs a Christmas tree<br \/>A woman in a ballroom gown waltzes<br \/>   on her own to 4\/4 time<br \/>And all the merry while, a tiny battle rages on the piano<br \/>Fingers flutter as the stage&#8217;s lights flash<br \/>   bright white and brighter colours<br \/>Showing Father Christmas for what he really is.<br \/>The woman stops, but her gown still sways<br \/>   as the room waltzes around her<br \/>Still in an off-kilter time.<br \/>A mouse pushes St. Nick from his sleigh<br \/>   And the world explodes into a children&#8217;s story<br \/>All on a mad Russian&#8217;s Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s good eh? Shannon wrote it the other day when she was listening to one o her favourite songs called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RBQQryCXN3c\">&#8220;A Mad Russian&#8217;s Christmas&#8221;<\/a> by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I love how evocative her poem is &#8211; and I&#8217;m not really one for poetry myself.
