I spend a lot of time online and have done for years and over that time many happy, sad, odd, nasty, fantastic things have happened to me online and off. This blog is about all of that and more.

Hey thanks for checking out my little blog. A bit about me: I'm a web designer for a Catholic Hospital in Nebraska. I love my job and it's allowed me to learn so much about design and code etc etc. all at their expense, not mine, hehehe. I have a daughter, she's nearly 12 and the pride of my life. You can check out her website at Sweetiepete.com. She loves it when people sign her guestbook :) That's enough for this space. If you want to know more, read the blogs! :)

Well last night was exciting. Not in a good way though. I had to call 9-1-1 on my neighbours below me because they were quite literally beating the tar out of each other. From what I could gather, the woman's ex-boyfriend had been calling her and she got into this fight with her current boyfriend. At least that's what I heard the guy tell the police when they arrived. Before that though, they were slamming doors, and screaming at each other and I was getting fed up with it so I went into the hall to sort of let my presence warn them that they were causing a disturbance and to maybe calm down a little - probably not the best idea but I didn't think it was all that bad when I went out there. But then I could hear a little girl jut sobbing, 'Don't hurt my mommy' over and over and things were crashing to the floor, so maybe he shoved her or something. I don't really know. It just broke my heart though - I can still hear that little girl's voice echoing in my head. So I ran for the phone and made my daughter go in her room and called 9-1-1. I went on my balcony and directed the police to the right apartment then went inside to try and hear what was going on. I know that sounds just plain nosey, but it wasn't that I wanted to know, it was that I wanted to be sure things were safe and it wasn't going to escalate. That's when I heard him swearing at the cops and trying to tell them about her ex-boyfriend.

So that was my evening. Now I hope they don't work out who called the police. I know the cops won't tell them, but I was rather loud about unlocking my door and stepping into the hall as I said - not sure if they heard me through all of their yelling. I hope not anyway.

Tonight should be better. We're going to see The Two Towers - yay! I've been waiting for a year to see this and I am so stoked. My only complaint has to be that certain people, who shall remain nameless, are enjoying attempting to take the wind out of my sails a bit by slagging off the films. Now, I have no problems with anyone who just don't find the trilogy as their cup of tea. My sister doesn't care for them, but she understands that I am a HUGE fan of them and so refrains from badmouthing it in front of me. Why can't everyone have that philosophy? A friend of mine is a big football fanatic (fanatic is putting it mildly actually - he's a football freak). Personally, I hate football and think it's stupid, but I wouldn't say that to him unless I had a death wish of some kind. I know it's something he cares deeply about so out fo respect, I don't diss his game :) Well I don't think it's too much to ask not to have a set of films I care deeply about, and am a big fan of, slagged off just to try and get a rise out of me. If someone wants to explain to me why they dislike it, that's fine, and I can certainly respect that opinion - to each their own, to quote a tired old cliche. But Lord of the Rings is something I take seriously because it's something I've loved since I was a kid and Peter Jackson just did a fantastic job bringing these books to life. I love them, most fans of the books will love them. If you're not a fan, just say so but don't call me a loser, or ho-hum in my direction when I say I am excited about the films.

Enough of that rant :) Sorry just got a bit sick of a TCZ user or two going on about how silly they think the movies are. Annoys me :) Anyway, I haven't said much about the Internet today. Not much too say really, I've just been doing my normal site maintenance. Nothing exciting. Shopping is done and nearly everything has arrived so no more UPS tracking. Ah well.. I might write more later on. for now I need to get a bit more work done. Cheerio!

I don't know what to write about today but I feel an incessant need to write *something*. I haven't been up to very much apart from the usual Christmas stuff. Still waiting for some packages to arrive - one of which I won on Ebay on December 5th that still hasn't arrived so I'm not leaving him feedback until I get it. He's got my cash, where's my poster? And I'm waiting on my sister's pressie aswell. I might end up having to fedex that to her to make sure she gets it by xmas. I hate to think of her not having any family around for christmas. Wish I could fly her out here for it. Yeah, that $188 million lottery jackpot's looking pretty good right now.

I discovered another net radio station that I really like. It's Virgin's 'Cinematique' and plays movie soundtracks - mostly the instrumental stuff mind you, which makes good office background noise. Currently playing is the score to 2001, A Space Odyssey.

Speaking of space, we finally got to see a meteor shower. The Geminids gave a great show in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Rick had sent me an email earilier in the week reminding me about them so we bundled up and off we went. I think my daughter really enjoyed it (even if we did park next to some freaky cows we couldn't quite see in te dark). We counted a good 20 meteors in the space of half an hour and it was even at the peak yet. Was quite thrilling - and if these meteor showers could just time it so that they happen when I don't have to work in the morning, we'll see more!

Hmmm. Danny Elfman yet again on the soundtrack station. Remember him? The 'Weird Science' guy from Oingo Boingo who now does the music for nearly every single film ever :) I think he's fab.

Enough of that. I'm off. Presents to wrap and stuff :)
