I spend a lot of time online and have done for years and over that time many happy, sad, odd, nasty, fantastic things have happened to me online and off. This blog is about all of that and more.
Hey thanks for checking out my little blog. A bit about me: I'm a web designer for a Catholic Hospital
in Nebraska. I love my job and it's allowed me to learn so much about design and code etc etc. all at their expense, not mine, hehehe.
I have a daughter, she's nearly 12 and the pride of my life. You can check out her website at Sweetiepete.com.
She loves it when people sign her guestbook :) That's enough for this space. If you want to know more, read the blogs! :)
I just love the Internet. Of course I do, I wouldn't be here writing this if I didn't. Today I received my W-2, and tonight I e-filed my taxes :) Cross your fingers everything went right. Apparently the IRS has to 'approve' of them. But wow, if they do, I'll have a very nice tax refund (barring evil student loan nazis lurking near the bank ready to snatch refunds out from under your very nose). We shall see. Anyway, I've not got much to talk about this time around. I'm still moving right along with the movie site. I'm starting to trickle into the search engines already. Someone did a search on 'Billy Boyd Shirtless' (Billy Boyd plays Pippin in LotR) and my site popped up. Not that I have any pics of Mr. Boyd sans shirt mind you. I only have those three words in the site somewhere, not necessarily together. Weird how search engines work. I get the strangest queries from Google and Yahoo on this very blog. "Peter Jackson Home Address" turns up this blog :) Poor Peter, he's got his very own stalker now.
I'm fascinated looking at web stats. There is someone who comes here from St. Andrews Uni in the UK quite often and I'm curious as to who it is and how they found the place. Prince Willliam goes there you know. Hehehe.
Short blog methinks. Eyelids are dropping and bed beckons.
Eep been neglecting this a bit. Sorry. I've just been so busy with The Picture Show. Yes I know I keep shamelessly plugging it, but who cares :) this is my site and I'm not going to yell at me for continually plugging it. Hehehe. Anyway, I've gotten a couple more people to start adding their reviews or movie news and I'm really enjoying reading what they write. Oh and someone joined the forum today that I didn't really know which I thought was pretty cool :) I added a feature to it called spoiler tags. I figured it was perfect for a movie forum as people are bound to discuss plotlines etc. With this little hack, anyone not wishing to see spoilers will only see a black boc. The hack creates the black box with black text and the only way to read it is to highlight it with your mouse. I think it's nifty :)
So yeah I've been messing with hacks, fixing pages, rearranging my bedroom, posting in forums, doing research, sifting through jumbled notes from department directors who don't understand the words 'electronic format'. Busy busy. I did go and see that Two Towers one last time before it leaves the theatre. We watched the extended version of Fellowship, then went straight to the cinema which was kind of cool. I'm going to do that again when Return of the King comes out. Yes, I am sad. I don't care, I'm happy.
My next project is to tackle Access. Rick just mailed me a couple of manuals for it that should help me out. I wanted to learn it so I could find an easier way to maintain my movie collection. I'm not a very technical person so I've been doing it the hard way and just using tables for it, but when I buy a new movieit's a big pain in the ass to add it alphabetically. Wish me luck - learning from books is difficult for me. I wish I had Rick's ability to absorb technical manuals but I don't.
I'm rambling now, which is a sign I should stop. So I will.
