I spend a lot of time online and have done for years and over that time many happy, sad, odd, nasty, fantastic things have happened to me online and off. This blog is about all of that and more.
Hey thanks for checking out my little blog. A bit about me: I'm a web designer for a Catholic Hospital
in Nebraska. I love my job and it's allowed me to learn so much about design and code etc etc. all at their expense, not mine, hehehe.
I have a daughter, she's nearly 12 and the pride of my life. You can check out her website at Sweetiepete.com.
She loves it when people sign her guestbook :) That's enough for this space. If you want to know more, read the blogs! :)
I am slacking again. I actually started to write in it the other day until i realised I had nothing interesting to say. I probably still don't but I'm feeling guilty for not writing. I'm still on a high right now after finding out a bid I put in for a freelance job was accepted. I'm so damn chuffed! I was asked at the end of last year if I'd be interested in doing a website for a local chapter of a nursing health group and of course I said yes I was. So they asked me to outline costs etc. and then I didn't hear from them for the longest time, so I figured it fell through. But I got an email earlier this week saying my bid was accepted and I'll be meeting with them next week to get started. Woohoo yay me :). On top of *that* money, I received my Federal tax refund today (bless the IRS!) so I am off on a bit of a spree this weekend. Well, when I say spree, I mean that my daughter's getting some new outfits and I'm getting a new pair of shoes. Woohoo again! I love shopping.
What else have I been up to... nothing much really, just putting in some time on the Picture Show. I decided that as much as I loved using Greymatter for it, it just wasn't feasible if the site was going to grow and allow multiple users to post stuff. It's a great blog tool, but it's not so great at organizing sections. So I installed Postnuke and now have my own portal site that turned out quite well :) And I just want to say a huge gigantic THANK YOU to the people behind this wonderful software and for keeping it free. So to the peeps at Postnuke and Phpbb (Excellent forum software), thanks very much :)
In other news, I heard the Placebo public forums were back. Whoopdeedoo. A lot of my friends are glad to have it back and for them, I'm happy and hope they have as great a time as I did (up to a point) there. Personally, I've moved on to bigger and better things so to those of you lurking about here hoping to see me "whining" about being banned from the forums - it ain't gonna happen. Get over it already and get on with your lives ;)
Well I've got a meeting in 15 minutes and I still have to go grab some lunch so I'm off. Til next time!
