Thursday, April 3, 2003A beginning..."Mary Mary is no good. Chop her up for firewood. When she's dead, boil her head, Make it into gingerbread!" The girls jumping rope snickered and smirked at Mary as she passed by, desperately trying to become invisible. But it was too late. They had spotted her and the daily torture had begun. ----- Not much of a beginning, but one nonetheless.. I think that is the way I want it to start - with the girls doing a mean rhyme about her, and her reaction to that. Then I think I want her to find some corner of the playground and get out her notebook and start writing. I want to delve right into Mary's little world that she begins to create. Now I just have to figure out what Mary's world will be like  . I'm torn between making this a horror story and making it a sort of empowering story. I'll have to think on that.And I think I should have stated when I started this that this project could very well take ages, because I can only work on it when I have spare time - and that spare time comes in spurts. Lately I've been swamped  But all I can say is keep checking back regularly for updates (that is, if you are interested in this to begin with.) I'll do my best to keep up with it.
