08/22/2003: "Slacker!"

I'm not a slacker, really I'm not. But bloody hell I haven't written here since the 5th! Shame on me. Well I won't bore anyone with excuses. I'm still alive smile

Lately TCZ has had a trend towards users getting webcams and having their friends on the chat switch them on, get drunk and start flashing each other. Amusing stuff smile Not quite sure how I feel about it myself as I'm not entirely comfortable flashing my bits and pieces to people I've never met IRL. And for soem reason, whenever my cam is on, I'm very aware of my eyebrows. Weird eh? So I don't put it on much. I only recently got it working again so now I have to get used to being viewable. Kind of takes away some of the bravado of being an anonymous user on the Internet. It makes all the difference in the world when people can put a face to the name and I think your behaviour changes considerably.

Being on cam one on one with someone you already know is a bit different though. Then it's just like a videophone smile Maybe that's why I'm so uncomfortable with it. All those people on TCZ having fun and flashing each other all know each other IRL because of all the UK meets they have that i can never go to. Sure I know some of them but the last time I saw a UK spod in person was five years ago so it's just a bit weird when they start bugging you to get your shirt off.

Anyway enough of that. I've blogged about this subject twice now and I think that's enough smile I've been getting out a lot more which is a good thing. Re-discovered ice skating and am just having a blast with that. Swimming will be ending in a couple weeks so I'm glad I've found another outlet for exercising. I'm not a gym person - I do not regard 'working out' as fun and so I'm less inclined to go. Why do something you don't enjoy? Ice-skating on the other hand is fecking cool and good for you.

I'm having problems with my browser here at work in that half the time images aren't downloading so it's been difficult for me to get work done because I can't see the results of web changes. Kind of annoying. I've just re-installed IE and it seems ok for now, but I bet it's a caching problem and I don't have a clue how to fix that. I'm not very technical when it comes to computers. I can tell you how to make gorgeous charts in Excell or how to add animated graphics to your Powerpoint presentation, but if something stupid happens with the hard drive, I'm lost. people don't seem to get that about me here at work. They figure I do the website therefore I must be the computer guru - that and I'm more accessible than our IS department who take ages to come fix stuff. Unfortunately 95% of the time I can't help either and I end up telling them to call IS. I wish they'd quit asking. Although... The other day my cousin had 2 geeky questions about Windows XP and I actually knew how to sort him out. It was a good feeling because growing up, my cousin was a computer genious - back in the days before the web. This boy would code his own video games and stuff. Now he's a little bit lost when it comes to a Windows environment. It's just odd to be the one he asks when he has a computer problem.

Right, I've got to go. Will write more soon... ish.

Simulated diamonds have long been held in disfavor, because of the assumption that simulation necessarily implies inferiority womenstatus com. So it might come as something of a surprise that many professional gemmologists are now selling simulated diamonds alongside the real thing. Many of mans finest creations have been born in the lab, and moissanite diamonds are no exception. 2bwed biz http://www.2bwed.biz/link_partners/jewelryandwatches.htm
