I was looking at the control panel log for this blog and noticed a lot of people were doing searches for movies or moviestars here. Might be due to me running the Picture Show movie site I suppose, but I still think it's odd.
I have to vent a little bit and complain at all the difficulties I'm having with various domain names. What a freaking pain in the ass all of it is. One domain was already in existence when I took it over and it has taken me about a month to sort out how to get it transferred, meanwhile the site I designed for it sits stagnant and I hope I haven't irritated my clients. But I've kept them informed every step of the way so hopefully they'll be understanding. Anyway, I'm still working on getting that sorted out. I'm trying to buy a domain for my new client, but having difficulty getting them the right one. Then I found good cheap hosting for them so that worked all right. And the other domain is for my job, and has one big cock-up from start to finish (not my cock-up though thank goodness.) When I got this job, we registered a new and easier domain for us but kept the old one and had it just point to our new address. Well now that we've left the company who did that for us, the old domain still contains our old info, and people are accessing that site and getting outdated information. So I contacted our corporate techies and asked them to change the pointer to our new site. Instead, for people outside the hospital, it points to our hosting company and for me, on 4 different machines, it points to that blasted old site still.
I'm going mad, and the Internet is responsible.

It's a Small World After All.
First, many Appy Loggies for putting that wretched Disney song in your head. That was truly awful of me. Second, the reason I did is just to say that the Internet makes it even smaller. So my cousin tells me he's looking at a possible brewing job in Ottawa, Ontario but wants to check the cost of living and all that. I tell him that I know a few people up there thanks to TCZ and I'll ask around. Fine, no big deal really. It gets better though... Later he gives me the URL of the place he's looking at up there, called Heritage Brewing. Meanwhile I've checked for responses to my BBS post about Ottawa life, and a couple people have responded to say it's not bad, great public transport etc.. Then my friend Clarkey, who is from Scotland but just recently moved back after spending nearly a year in Ottawa, tells me he knew a guy there who worked for some brewery. "Heritage something.." he says. Turns out Clarkey knows a delivery guy for the very same brewery my cousin is interested in. How f'ing cool is that?
Okay so maybe it's not all that cool, but I still think it's weird and neat

I spend quite a bit of time online for my job and for entertainment and this blog is just some of my observations about life on the Internet. Enjoy and leave comments! :)
