The kidlet had her first bellydance recital last night and it was wonderful πŸ™‚ I love watching her dance. She really has a natural grace and beauty when she dances which surprises me because I am a clumsy oaf. So I’ve no idea where she gets it from.

The organizers said no videotaping during the performance – mainly so they could film it and sell the DVDs but hell with that. The entire program of fluffy tot ballerinas, bellydancer, cloggers young and old, and hiphoppers was 2 and half bloody hours long. Of that, Shannon was on stage for one song.

So I tried to be stealthy girl, only to discover later that quite a lot of other parents were stealthily filming their kids’ sections as well. Besides, I’m not exactly worried about the YWCA cops booting me out. I stayed for the whole show damnit πŸ™‚

So here is my little girl, shining on stage πŸ™‚ For those of you who know her, you might be able to pick her out (I had to sit near the back with my grandparents who are too wobbly to manage the downhill slope to the closer seats) but for anyone who doesn’t know her, she’s the second dancer to come out front and perform, wearing a green top, black skirt, and she’s the one spinning when the music changes to a faster tempo.

Looks like fun doesn’t it? If you listen closely, you can hear my gran ask me if I thought Shan was going to lose her skirt πŸ™‚ This really worried her. Hehe.

Stormy goodness

I love thunderstorms. Yesterday was clear, bright, sunny. Then when I left to go to the kidlet’s last orchestra concert of the year the skies were wicked, bubbling, roiling and rather green. Thought I’d catch some vid of it since I carry the cam around for a reason but always forget I have it.

Ahhhhhh… I missed most of the storm though, by the time the concert was over it was mostly just raining and the lightshow had passed us. Ah well. It’s early days yet. I’m sure there will be more to come πŸ™‚

Thanks a lot Mike

I’ve been haunted by this song for two days now.

I played it for Shannon who promptly bought it on iTunes and currently, I am downloading the damn game so I can play it. I can never resist a smartass computer.

And I can’t get the song out of my head. I woke up yesterday and today with it in there. It’s like a deliciously moist (sorry Tonya) cake.

I got Rickrolled three times yesterday. All three times were classic too πŸ™‚ I won’t explain what Rickrolling is if you don’t know what I’m talking about – just click the link πŸ™‚

The three big sites I visit regularly – Fark, YouTube and even Blogger were the culprits and I laughed my ass off each time. And the beauty of it was each prank was a different kind of Rickroll which was teh awesome. Fark got a lot of people with this one, YouTube sent everyone to the classic Rickroll by changing almost every link on their main page to that video, and Blogger went totally karaoke by promising the Blogger faithful a spiffy new toy to play with, the bastards πŸ™‚

Anyway, April Fools Day online was a lot of fun.

The day cannot begin

Without passing by this puppy. Well, he/she is probably more or less past the age of puppydom, but to us, he’s the funnest puppy EVAR.

We pass him/her on our way to school/work every morning, and I wish we could just park and watch him. I’m going to assume he’s a he because I’m tired of the slashies. He likes to chase cars. An honest-to-goodness dog who chases cars. I thought it was a myth. But this puppy is trapped in his yard, hampered by the fence. But that doesn’t stop him. He’ll stalk you if you’re stopped, and completely WIG OUT if you drive by slowly. He’ll spin and spin and spin to get himself revved up and then FOOM – he’s off like a shot when you speed up.

I love watching him. I’ve even taken to changing my route home so I can see if he’s out πŸ™‚

I couldn’t catch him doing his spinning thing, but trust me, it’s hilarious πŸ™‚
